Growth Isn’t Linear — It’s Seasonal

Hey friends, it’s been a while.

If I’m honest, I hit a wall. Burnout, overwhelm, too many “shoulds.” I thought I’d step away for a week or two to catch my breath, but that short break turned into a much longer one. Somewhere in there, I realized I didn’t just need rest — I needed to reconnect with why I started doing this work in the first place.

We talk about growth like it’s supposed to look like this steady climb upward — consistent progress, constant motion, always improving. But lately, I’ve realized that real growth doesn’t look like that at all. It’s not linear. It’s seasonal.

Some seasons are all sunshine and momentum — you feel creative, confident, and clear. You’re blooming.

And some seasons feel more like winter — quiet, slow, and a little uncomfortable. You wonder if you’ve lost your spark, or if anything is even happening beneath the surface.

But even in the stillness, the roots are working. You just can’t see it yet.

That’s what my time away taught me. While I wasn’t posting, creating, or pushing forward, things were shifting underneath. I was resting, reflecting, and healing. It didn’t feel productive — but it was necessary.

Coming back now feels different. I’m not chasing the pace I used to keep. I’m trying to move with more intention, more ease. I’m learning that slowing down doesn’t mean I’ve fallen behind — it means I’m allowing what’s next to take shape in its own time.

So if you’re in a quieter season, I want to remind you: there’s nothing wrong with you. You’re not broken. You’re just between blooms.

A little reflection for you:
What season are you in right now — growth, rest, or something in between? And what might it look like to honor that season instead of rushing through it?

Here’s to the seasons that shape us — the growing, the resting, the returning.
